Rebuilt after the devastation of war, the Castle is a symbol of Poland's rebirth and of Warsaw rising from the ashes of war. A symbol of royal power and the political system of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, it is also a masterpiece of reconstruction, the result of many years of titanic work by Polish architects, scientists, art experts, and craftsmen.
Today, the Castle offers a wide range of services to its guests. The most popular attractions are the Royal Apartments and the Sejm Chambers. Tours include the Throne Room, the Ballroom, the Chamber of Deputies, and the royal private apartments. The exhibition "The Destruction and Reconstruction of the Royal Castle" is also worth visiting. The Castle also boasts an impressive collection of works of art, including works by Rembrandt, Matejko, Canaletto, and Bacciarelli.
